Happy Thursday! I’m excited to share a few of my favorite images from Tara + Kyle’s wedding with you all today. Gosh I wish I could reach through the computer and hug you for bein’ here with me. Means so much!
The weather was spectacular on Tara & Kyle’s wedding day – one of those perfect days where summer transitions into fall and leaves behind a crisp air that fills my heart right up. I live for this time of year! The sun shone as Tara & Kyle married at Woodstock Country Club with friends and family at their side. I feel blessed to have been a part of this awesome day! (And with a fabulous team, no less! If you haven’t seen John & Jen Moon’s wedding films under their business Northernlight Filmworks, you must take a moment to peruse their wonderful work!)
Tara & Kyle – Thank you so much for having me out to document your wedding. It’s been so fun getting to know you over the past few months. I feel lucky to call you new friends and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for you guys! Hope Hawaii sent you on your way with lots of new and happy memories as a married couple…
There was no shortage of color at this wedding. Gorgeous color everywhere you looked!
I have April Foster and her team at April Foster Events to thank for bringing all of the details together beautifully that day. Not one detail went overlooked.
The reception and all of it’s details were beautiful – complete with mad libs for guests to fill out for the newlywed couple and a cute lil’ box (adorned with the letter B for Brown) filled with bite size candies.
When I took Kyle & Tara’s engagement photos a couple of months ago, it was a good indication that they would be a joy to work with on their wedding day.
This dessert bar was pure eye candy.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown! : )
A little photobooth time always makes for a fun reception.
Enjoy your evening, friends. Appreciate you.
It’s Wednesday and I can count a million and half reasons to be grateful.
The truth is — life is hard and at times seems unfair. I had a dear friend say very recently that he’s never been more aware of the fact that he isn’t in control. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a violent shove/kick/slap in the face for us to remember this. We want to be in control. We want to be able to fix things when they are not right. We want to please and we want to call the shots.
Sometimes, though, it’s better to sit back and use all of that energy instead to give thanks for all that IS right in your life.
Or in other words, try seeing your glass as half full. I think you’ll find there are many reasons to be thankful. 🙂
Oh hi there! Thanks for being here with me! What a happy Tuesday it is for me to be able to share these sweethearts with you guys.
Truly, I’ve been blessed to photograph some of the most beautiful children. Gorgeous, vibrant, stylish children. When Larah contacted me to take her kiddos photos, I sensed from the start that she was a FUN mom. She values photos and I can obviously appreciate that so much but more than that, she was so kind and up for anything when we shot these photos. Being able to go with the flow when photographing kids is HUGE. Kids are almost always on their own agenda and when everyone can agree from the start to go with the flow, the better the photos will be in the end.
Larah, Elena, Thomas & Nicholas – I had such a fun time coming out to your home! Thanks for spending the evening with me and allowing me to do what I love. I appreciate you all so much. Happy to call you new friends!
Please meet the Telescos. That’s Nicholas on the left, sweet Elena and then Thomas on the right. Don’t be fooled. Thomas is a softie! : )
When I have light, models and clothing like below – that’s when my heart is really on fire.
I’m a big fan of the name Thomas. That’s my dad’s name. In my book, that name has a lot to live up to!
I could have photographed Elena all. day. long. I’ve photographed a lot of kids and Elena just might be the most photogenic of em all. She blew me away!
I so love that shot on the right. Such a great photo of these awesome kids!
Hope you guys have an amazing evening. Try to step away from those trivial things that slowly eat away at your joy. Be thankful and tell those you love them that you appreciate them. There is always so much to be grateful for. Xo
Ohhh, this sweet family. I’ve been very excited to share these with you guys. The Leppert family reminded me almost instantly after showing up to photograph their family why it is I have such a heart for photographing families with young kids. I just love it so much.
When Kathleen first contacted me to have photos taken of her family, she sounded so sweet and friendly over the phone. I knew from the get go that she would be a joy to work with. You can imagine how thrilled I was to show up to her home and her entire family was donning all kinds of bright, fun colors. Paired with the amazing light we had that evening, I was seriously in heaven. Thank you, Leppert fam, for inviting me to your home to photograph your family. I had an absolute blast!
Kathleen and her husband, Bill, have 3 beautiful kiddos. That’s Billy on the left, the baby Mary Margaret in the middle and her big sis, Annie, at her side.
They’re a perfect little family.
When I photograph families, I love to grab a quick updated shot of the parents.
I wanted to hang out with them all evening. : )
This is Billy’s face (left) whenever you mention anything having to do with kissing. He is all boy and super adorable.
These kids love their Mama.
I posted a teaser of the shot below on facebook last week – it still makes me smile. I just want to know who that special someone is who Billy is so affectionately blowing kisses to!
I especially love the shot on the right – cuddles are probably the best ever.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday! And, if you are the praying type, I ask that you please keep a special intention of mine in your prayers today. Thank you so much!
Love ya guys.
“Blessed is this life and I’m gonna celebrate being alive.” Brett Dennen, Blessed
I’m not entirely sure where to begin. I’ve been immensely blessed with the best, most supportive and loving family in the world and wonderful friendships that fill my heart. I’ve never felt more love in my entire life than I have these past few days.
Today I am 26 years old. I am happy in this age. People have asked, “So how does it feel to be 26?”. When asked this question growing up, with each birthday I’d shrug my shoulders and declare I felt no different. (Except when I turned 21 and spilled red wine all over my clothes on my flight to Florence, Italy where I was heading to study for a semester! Talk about an awesome conversational starter. Hey, I’m Caitlin! Check out the gigantic red stain on my pants! Wanna hang?!)
This year, though? It honestly does feel different. It feels so right. I say with confidence that I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been and today I look back at all of the years leading up to 26 and I am incredibly thankful. For every person, every experience, every opportunity to grow and learn. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the past 26 years.
This morning I was given the most amazing gift – one long video of family, friends + loved ones wishing me a happy birthday and a wonderful year ahead. (My awesome brother in law even made it in there just in the nick of time before deploying to Kuwait! So thankful!). I cried. Big, happy, joy filled tears. I’ve been SO blessed and at times I can’t understand why but if there is one thing that’s for sure — I’m going to do my best to celebrate being alive.
I truly lost it when this snippet of my adorable nephew came on. Noah reminds me daily how precious life is and honestly, how can you not melt at this cuteness? I can’t even handle it!
Here’s to another year of racing full speed after my dreams. Thanks for being here with me.
Oh and in case anyone wondered, I ate 4 of those cupcakes, probably 3/4’s of that key lime pie and half of that cannoli. Like a boss.
