Happy Monday! This post is a special one. You may recognize Amy on the left. Well you may recognize Liz on the right, too! I photographed Amy & Peter’s wedding a few years ago and Liz was one of Amy’s bridesmaids in her beautiful summer wedding. Little did I know that I’d be traveling to Mexico to photograph Liz’s wedding a few years later. I’m literally leaving next week to photograph Liz and Mike’s wedding in Riviera Maya! I don’t remember how to dress for warm weather – still living in that awkward transition with clothes where my body has forgotten what it feels like to go outside in a t-shirt, haha! – so packing for this trip should be fun.
Need a quick refresher? Here’s Amy & Peter’s wedding (loved this day so much!) and here are Liz & Mike’s engagement photos I took at Oliver Winery in Bloomington.
So these two are the best of friends and when I found out Amy was expecting and couldn’t make it to Liz’s wedding because the due date was running too close to their wedding date, I got to thinking. How can we make lemonade from lemons?
So I a sent them both an email one afternoon on a whim and said something along the lines of, “Since Amy can’t make it to the wedding, I’d love to get you two together for a couple photos. 15 minutes of your time, nothing crazy! I just want you guys to have photos to remember this awesome time in your lives!” To which they both replied, “100%! We love the idea!” We also got Prosecco and chips and salsa after the photos and caught up, so that was a great idea as well.
This only took about 10 minutes. But sometimes that’s all you need. When I met Amy a few years ago, I didn’t know she’d become such a sweet friend.
Isn’t she glowing?! I tried to get her to tell me her little girl’s name, but she said it’s top secret! ; ) I’m so happy for excited for her and her husband, Peter. This is one loved babe!
Love you girls! Liz, I’ll see you soon… in Mexico! 🙂
